How it works

  1. Take a clear photo of the defect. Close enough to see it, with a little of the surroundings so it can be found.
  2. Say where it is. Construction site, or your own new build. Add a few words if the photo could show more than one thing.
  3. Read and use the snag. Copy it into your own list or report, or add it to the free snag list template and download a PDF, Excel or Word file.

What a good snag says

A snag gets fixed first time when someone who was not there can find it, understand it and put it right. The writer aims for that: where it is, what is wrong, why it matters and what fixes it, in two to four sentences, with a severity and a trade so the list can be sorted and sent to the right subcontractor.
